Submit an Application for Funding

The Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Hochschule für Musik Freiburg e. V. supports students of the Hochschule and the FAB in participating in the following events in their main artistic subject:

Master classes, competitions, summer academies and special advanced training events.

Funding can only be awarded once per calendar year. Please submit your funding application using the form at the bottom of the page.

We do not support:

Master classes given by the student's own main subject teacher, auditions and application trips.

All students of the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg and the Freiburger Akademie für Begabtenförderung are eligible for funding. Please note: Exchange students do not receive funding for participation in master classes and only in special cases receive grants for participation in competitions. Please submit an application using the form below.

Funding can amount to up to 50 percent of the recognized costs. We subsidize the costs of travel and accommodation as well as registration and participation fees. We do not cover catering costs. In the case of all-inclusive prices for accommodation and meals, we deduct a fixed sum for meals.
Important: For climate protection reasons, we do not subsidize travel costs for flights within Europe.

IMPORTANT:

Your application will only be processed if submitted in due time before the start of the event (min. several working days ahead). We cannot consider applications that you submit after the event or the weekend before it starts.

In order to submit your application, you must upload a letter of recommendation from your main subject teacher. Please use the template (pdf) (this file is not barrier-free)provided.

You may only submit one application per calendar year.

Cost overview in euros

We subsidize up to 50 percent of the actual costs incurred. The cheapest alternative must be chosen for travel and accommodation costs. The following applies to rail travel: If you do not yet have a Bahncard, please check whether the price is cheaper overall by purchasing a Bahncard. For car journeys, we calculate the costs at 30 ct/km. Please fill in the fields that apply to your travel costs. For payment, please complete our invoice form after the event and upload your receipts as proof.
